Madeleine Watts is the author of the novel The Inland Sea, shortlisted for the 2021 Miles Franklin Literary Award. Her essays and short stories have been published in Harper’s, The White Review, The Believer and Griffith Review, among others. She grew up in Sydney, and lives in New York.
