The Seal Woman is a portrait of a widow in mourning, first published in 1992. It explores the mind of a middle-aged woman mourning the recent death of her husband at sea, in a cottage lent to her by friends in the seaside village in Victoria where she had spent her honeymoon.

A new edition of A Body of Water by Beverley Farmer, an out-of-print classic. Its mixing of genres – essay, memoir, fiction, folk tale – opened up new frontiers for Australian literature.
